Roof Repair in Anchorage & the Mat-Su Valley

Leaks, flashing, wind damage, and ice dam damage, fixed and photographed. Most repairs the same week. If the roof is past repairing, we say so before you spend a dollar on it.

Water travels. A stain over the kitchen can start at a vent boot fifteen feet uphill. Finding the source is most of the job, which is why every repair starts with us on the roof and in the attic, not with a guess from the driveway.

Leaking right now? Three things to do before we get there

Water inside the house is stressful, and most of the damage happens in the hours before anyone shows up. Do these first.

  • Catch the water. A bucket under the drip and a towel around it. If the ceiling is bulging, poke a small hole with a screwdriver and let it drain into the bucket, so it doesn’t come down all at once.
  • Photograph everything. The stain, the drip, the ceiling, and the outside of the roof from the ground if you can see it. Photos help us diagnose before we arrive and they matter if this turns into a claim.
  • Text us the photos. We’ll tell you what we see and whether it can wait for morning or can’t.

Don’t get on the roof. Wet shingles and metal are slick even in summer, and in winter there’s no version of that which ends well. Emergency roof repair →

Common roof problems we fix

The usual suspects in Southcentral.

  • Ice dam damage at the eaves: lifted shingles, torn underlayment, rotted fascia
  • Flashing at chimneys, walls, and skylights that’s pulled away or rusted through
  • Cracked rubber pipe boots and vent boots. The most common leak we see, and the cheapest fix.
  • Wind-lifted, cracked, or missing shingles after a Chugach wind event
  • Valleys where two roof planes meet and the water load is highest
  • Metal roof fasteners, seams, and panel damage. Metal roof repair has its own page.
  • Storm and snow-load damage, documented for your adjuster. Storm damage repair

How a repair goes

  • Text us the photos. Or call. Someone who works on roofs looks at them and tells you what we see, usually the same day.
  • We find the source. On the roof and in the attic. You get photos of what we found and a written price for the fix. If it’s a replacement, we say so.
  • We fix it. Most repairs are done the same week, many the same day we inspect if the materials are on the truck.
  • We show you. Before and after photos of the repair, so you can see what was wrong and what’s there now without climbing a ladder.

Repair or replace?

A repair is the right answer more often than roofers admit. It’s the wrong answer when you’re paying to patch a roof that’s already done. The inspection settles it, and we put the reason in writing.

Worth repairing

Repair it

One leak with a clear cause. A roof under fifteen years old. Damage in one area from wind, a fallen branch, or an ice dam. A failed boot or flashing on a roof that’s otherwise sound. These are repairs, and a good one should last as long as the rest of the roof.

Time to replace

Replace it

Leaks in more than one place. Shingles curling or shedding granules across the whole roof. Ice dam damage every winter. A roof past twenty years. Repairing these buys a season, not a decade, and the money is better spent on the roof you’ll actually keep. Roof replacement →

Repairs in an Alaska winter

Repairs happen year-round. Cold changes what we can do, not whether we come. Some materials won’t seal below freezing, so a winter repair is sometimes a proper temporary fix, done right, with the permanent version scheduled for the first warm stretch. We tell you which one you’re getting.

Many Anchorage leaks show up in March and April, and some in a midwinter thaw. That’s the melt finding every gap the ice made over the winter. If your roof leaked last spring and nothing was fixed, expect it again. The fix is usually at the eaves and in the attic, not just the shingle that’s lifted. Ice dam prevention and attic ventilation are where that work lives.

If the damage came from wind, snow load, or a storm, it may be a claim. We photograph it, meet the adjuster, and write the scope to match. Insurance claims →

What a repair costs

Repairs are priced after the inspection, in writing, by what we found. A pipe boot is a small number. Chimney flashing on a steep roof is a bigger one. If a repair is going to cost a meaningful fraction of a replacement, you hear that before you spend it, not after.
