Seamless Gutters in Anchorage & the Mat-Su Valley
Seamless aluminum gutters, sized for the roof and installed with it so the drip edge and flashing tie in. Free with any full roof replacement. Ask for the details when you book.
We install seamless aluminum gutters as part of our roof work, and with any full roof replacement they’re free. They go up with the new roof, so the drip edge and flashing tie into them and any soft fascia gets fixed before they’re hung. They’re sized for the roof and hung for snow and ice. Gutter-only jobs are case by case: text a photo and we’ll tell you if it’s one we can take.

Free gutters with a new roof
Book a full roof replacement, metal or asphalt, and the gutters are on us. Installing them with the roof matters:
- Fascia first. Soft or rotted fascia gets fixed before anything is hung on it.
- Drip edge and flashing tie in, so water coming off the roof lands in the gutter, not behind it.
- Sized for the roof and hung for winter. In a March thaw, ice is what stops a gutter, not size.
- Placed with sliding snow in mind, with snow guards above them on standing seam.

Why gutters fail in an Alaska winter
- Sliding snow tears them off, especially under standing seam, where a whole slope can let go at once.
- Ice fills them. Meltwater freezes in the trough, layer on layer, until the gutter is a block of ice.
- Downspouts freeze. When they plug, the water spills over and dumps at the foundation.
- They freeze up in the melt. A gutter sized for rain has room for meltwater, but not once ice fills it.
The fix is in how they’re sized and placed, and in the roof edge they hang from. Gutters are only as solid as the fascia behind them.
Gutters under a metal roof
Snow slides off standing seam fast, and when a slope lets go it can take the gutter with it. That’s why snow guards and gutter placement matter. Stone-coated steel holds snow in place much like a shingle roof, and usually lets go in smaller slides, which is easier on gutters, but guards still go over doors, decks, and walkways.
Do gutters cause ice dams?
No. Ice dams start in the attic, when house heat melts the snow on the upper roof and the water refreezes at the cold eaves. But a gutter packed with ice gives that water nowhere to go, and it makes the ice at the eaves worse. Clear gutters help. The fix for the dam itself is in the attic and at the eaves. Heat cable in gutters melts a channel for the water. We don’t install it.

Can you install gutters without a new roof?
Free
They go on with the roof, tied into the drip edge and flashing we just installed, on fascia we’ve already fixed. No charge with any full replacement.
Case by case
Gutters are part of our roof work, not a separate business. For a gutter-only job, text a photo of the house and the gutters, and we’ll tell you if it’s one we can take.
If your gutters are sound and just full, that’s maintenance, not a new install. Clearing gutters and downspouts is part of a fall roof maintenance visit, before the snow.

We hang gutters with new roofs across the Valley in Wasilla, Palmer, and Big Lake, and in Anchorage, Eagle River, and Girdwood.
What new gutters cost
With a full roof replacement, nothing: they’re part of the offer. If we take a gutter-only job, it’s priced after we see it, in writing, by the length of the runs, how many downspouts, how high the eaves are, and whether the fascia needs work first.

Gutter questions
The questions we get most often about gutters in Anchorage and the Valley. Don’t see yours? Text us and a roofer answers.
Text my rooferYes, with any full roof replacement. You get seamless aluminum gutters, sized for the roof, that go up with the new roof so the drip edge and flashing tie into them. There’s no separate gutter bill. Ask for the details when you book.
Sometimes. Gutters are part of our roof work rather than a separate line of business, so we don’t take every gutter-only job. Text us a photo of the house and the gutters you have now, and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s one we can take.
Usually sliding snow or ice. Snow letting go of a roof, especially standing seam, can take a gutter with it, and a gutter packed with ice gets heavy. Soft fascia makes both worse. The fix is fascia repaired first, gutters placed with the slide in mind, and snow guards where a metal roof needs them.
Yes. Clear the gutters and downspouts in the fall, before the snow, so the first melt has somewhere to go. Leaves and needles hold water, that water freezes, and a plugged downspout dumps the overflow at the foundation. It’s part of a fall maintenance visit if you’d rather not climb the ladder.
No. We don’t install heat cable or heat tape of any kind, in gutters or on the roof. It melts a channel through the ice so water can drain, but it doesn’t change why the ice forms. We work on the causes instead: gutters hung for snow and ice, downspouts that drain, and an attic that isn’t warming the roof.
Not if it’s soft. Fascia that’s rotted from ice dams and overflow won’t hold a gutter through a winter of snow and ice. We fix the fascia first, then hang the gutters, and on a replacement that’s part of the roof job. If the fascia is sound, it stays.
